Postscript: January-April 2015

May 1, 2015 Postscript: Monthly Recap 0

Wow! I just realized I haven’t done a proper postscript wrap up in a while. I also feel the need to apologize for the lack of updates on my part. I’m in a strange funk. I’m not sure if it’s because we had a really early spring on my side of the US (we’ve had spring like weather since mid-February and now getting summer temps) or if it’s just work related stress. That being said, I have a bunch of half written reviews and I’m hoping to get those up posted soon. Right now, it’s finding the time to do it all.

Lit, etc is sporting a new look via a new header and I still trying to find a layout I can tweak a bit to reflect the new header. Please excuse the mini mess you see since there are sections that are getting revamped.

In personal news, the new admin assistant I got in January quit in March to join her boyfriend in South Carolina and I got a new one in April. I really liked him but unfortunately, he didn’t work out. There was a week he didn’t come in because he said he had a sick kid and then no one heard from him. Then he worked a week and I took this past Monday off and all hell broke loose with regards to all sorts of things. Yesterday he was officially terminated and I’m back to square one with no assistant, but hey that’s not new.

I had really good birthday in early April. One of my dear friends, A, treated me to a day about the town where we had lunch, saw Insurgent, and went book shopping! I love A a lot and it was really nice she came down to celebrate my birthday. I got flowers delivered at work from her and the next day received another delivery because the florist got the order wrong. I still joke that those came from Bradley Cole (from Gretchen Archer’s Davis Way series).

Jana from That Artsy Reader Girl was super sweet and sent me a Cheryl’s sugar cookie which was super delicious!

My coworkers brought me balloons (I can’t remember the last time I received balloons) and an array of little stuff.

I bought myself two books, Kissing Ted Callahan (and Other Guys) and Inspector of the Dead. Plus I had a $10 gift card to Godiva and bought some truffles. I really wanted the birthday truffles but they didn’t have it.

And, my Secret Sister sent me some really lovely gifts which I thanked her for in my second letter to her (link below). Overall, it was a wonderful birthday and thank you to everyone who made it super special.

Here’s what you may have missed during the months of January, February, March, and April!
