Blog Tour: Review-Kate Meader’s In Skates Trouble

Blog Tour: Review-Kate Meader’s In Skates Trouble

I’m a hockey fan and when I heard about the Hot on Ice anthology, I was curious. When given the opportunity to participate in the blog tour about the anthology, I signed up. As some of you are aware, I adore Kate Meader’s writing and I couldn’t pass up the chance to read In Skates Trouble. Not only is it part of a great anthology, but proceeds of Hot on Ice‘s sales go to a great cause, Homes for our Troops. Also, In Skates Trouble sets the scene for Meader’s Chicago Rebels series, an all about hockey book series! We have good characterization. Addison Williams is a former plus size (a term she hates as well as I do) model who is done with being a trophy wife. She’s strong,… Read more »

Blog Tour: Free Agent by Robin Covington

Blog Tour: Free Agent by Robin Covington

Today, I have a guest post by Robin Covington about her novella “Free Agent” in the Hot on Ice anthology. 20% of the royalties will be donated to Home for our Troops. I also like that in the anthology, each team member has their own story! Free Agent Can I tell you a secret? I don’t know anything about hockey. Now, I did research to write the story for this anthology but it was the first time I’d ever watched a hockey game. But, I LOVE sports romance – baseball, football, rugby, and even hockey heroes are my catnip. Maybe it’s the alpha maleness of the whole thing or the appeal of a man who works and hones his body to be at a top competitive level. So sexy!!! In… Read more »

Blog Tour: Guest Post-Life in the Spotlight by Heather Long

I’m honored to be part of the Good Reads, Good Causes blog tour! And even more so knowing that 20% of the royalties will be donated to Home for our Troops. It’s a great organization and I firmly believe that heroes shouldn’t be homeless or struggle to live in their house. I’m also really excited to read Hot on the Ice! It’s a unique take on an anthology-each team member has their own story! Life in the Spotlight One might think that life under the spotlight is a great place to be. After all, how bad could fame be? Anyone who has found their every movement, choice, or taste analyzed, criticized, and held up for ridicule across social media and the press will have a very different opinion. Just ask… Read more »

Blog Tour: Review-Kate Meader’s Sparking the Fire + Giveaway

Woo-hoo! Kate Meader is back with a new Hot in Chicago book! Sparking the Fire is the third and final book in her Hot in Chicago series and if you haven’t read any of the books in the series, it’s not necessary in order to enjoy Sparking the Fire. I’ve read all of them and while Meader will mention an event or two from the previous books, it’s nothing that I consider to be a huge spoiler. We have great character development. Molly Cade is a Hollywood actress struggling to get her career back on track. At first, Molly comes off as bit vulnerable, but she quickly establishes herself as a capable woman. She’s not afraid to fight for what she wants and isn’t afraid to stand up for herself…. Read more »

Blog Tour: Review-Karen Erickson’s Smolder + Giveaway

Karen Erickson is an author I’ve always wanted to read, but haven’t had the chance. When the opportunity came to participate in the Smolder blog tour, I couldn’t say no. Smolder is the second book in the Wildwood series and if you haven’t read the first, Ignite, it’s not necessary to do so in order to enjoy Smolder. I will say this, there is a running story involving an arsonist and won’t say anything else because I don’t want to ruin the story for anyone. We have really good character development. Delilah Moore is a dance instructor and owns her own studio. She’s not afraid to go after what she wants and she has her eyes set on Deputy Sheriff Officer, Lane Gallagher. And what I can say about Lane?… Read more »

Books Ahoy!: Cynthia Eden + Giveaway

Books Ahoy! is a feature inspired by Entertainment Weekly‘s “Books of My Life” column. I wanted to go beyond the interview and ask authors (and even readers) about their favorite books. Reading is a personal, but shared experience and what a great way to know someone by asking them about the books that shaped their life. No author or reader was forced to walk the plank. I’m excited to welcome Cynthia Eden to Lit, etc.! Torn is now available and it’s the fourth book in the LOST series. If you haven’t read the previous books in the series, it’s not necessary to enjoy Torn. Synopsis: In New York Times bestselling author Cynthia Eden’s latest novel featuring the Last Option Search Team (LOST), one agent’s investigation entices a killer into making… Read more »

Blog Tour: Review-Sarah MacLean’s Rogue Not Taken + Giveaway

After reading my first Sarah MacLean novel, No Good Duke Goes Unpunished, in November 2013, I vowed I’d read more of her novels and I’m sad to report I haven’t. I participated in the cover reveal for The Rogue Not Taken and when I read the synopsis, I knew this was a book I had to read! I’m so glad I got the opportunity to participate in the blog tour because I really enjoyed the book. It’s the first in a brand new series so you have plenty of time to read it before the next book comes out. We have great character development. Lady Sophie Talbot is the youngest of four sisters and they’ve been dubbed the “Soiled S’s.” Sophie didn’t grow up as an aristocratic-that came later in… Read more »
