I’m a hockey fan and when I heard about the Hot on Ice anthology, I was curious. When given the opportunity to participate in the blog tour about the anthology, I signed up. As some of you are aware, I adore Kate Meader’s writing and I couldn’t pass up the chance to read In Skates Trouble. Not only is it part of a great anthology, but proceeds of Hot on Ice‘s sales go to a great cause, Homes for our Troops. Also, In Skates Trouble sets the scene for Meader’s Chicago Rebels series, an all about hockey book series! We have good characterization. Addison Williams is a former plus size (a term she hates as well as I do) model who is done with being a trophy wife. She’s strong,… Read more »

Book Review: Kate Meader’s Playing with Fire
The Dempsy clan is back and this time it’s Alex’s story! If you haven’t read the first book in the Hot in Chicago series, it’s not necessary to enjoy Kate Meader’s Playing with Fire. I do recommend it because you’ll get introduced to the Dempsy family and everyone around them. Meader does a pretty good job at keeping spoilers out of books in the series and I do believe you’ll be okay delving into book two. We have really good character development. Alexandra Dempsy is a female firefighter trying to prove to the boys she can handle any job thrown her way. She’s tough, can kick ass, but also is vulnerable. Alex really is a woman who can handle her own and isn’t afraid to take matters into her own… Read more »
Blog Tour: Review-Kate Meader’s Sparking the Fire + Giveaway
Woo-hoo! Kate Meader is back with a new Hot in Chicago book! Sparking the Fire is the third and final book in her Hot in Chicago series and if you haven’t read any of the books in the series, it’s not necessary in order to enjoy Sparking the Fire. I’ve read all of them and while Meader will mention an event or two from the previous books, it’s nothing that I consider to be a huge spoiler. We have great character development. Molly Cade is a Hollywood actress struggling to get her career back on track. At first, Molly comes off as bit vulnerable, but she quickly establishes herself as a capable woman. She’s not afraid to fight for what she wants and isn’t afraid to stand up for herself…. Read more »
Book Review: Kate Meader’s Even the Score
I’ve made no secret of my love for Kate Meader and her books! When she asked if I’d be interested in reviewing the first in her Tall, Dark, and Texan series, Even the Score, I couldn’t say no. And, wow-talk about pent up sexual attraction! You’ll definitely need a fan as you read. We have great character development. Tess McKenzie was born to a famous actress and had the life of privilege growing up. She’s not spoiled and works hard in order to make her own way in the world. Tess is feisty and protective of her friends. You can easily imagine hanging out with her and just having fun. I really liked her. And ladies, be prepared to swoon over Hunter Dade! He’s a man on a mission who… Read more »
Book Review: Kate Meader’s Flirting with Fire
Woo-hoo! Kate Meader is back and this time with a brand new series that features firefighters. Can we take a moment to drool over the cover? It’s stunning and ah, the look in his eyes screams determination! We have great character development. Meader has always written strong characters and Flirting with Fire is no exception. Our heroine, Kinsey Taylor, is feisty, competitive, and isn’t one to easily intimidate. I’ll admit, I thought I wasn’t going to like Kinsey because of how self assured and strong she is, but Meader made her relatable. How many of us have fallen for a guy only to realize he’s intimidated by us? Kinsey’s ex-fiancé can’t handle her awesomeness, but that’s okay because Meader has given her someone who isn’t afraid of her. And oh… Read more »
Book Review: Kate Meader’s Hot and Bothered
Kate Meader quickly became a new favorite author after reading the second book in her Hot in the Kitchen series, All Fired Up. When the opportunity came to review the third in the series, Hot and Bothered, I couldn’t pass up the chance. I wanted to see Jules get her happily ever after and oh boy did Meader deliver! We have good character development. Jules Kilroy is a single mother who is struggling with a secret: she’s dyslexic. She’s not very confident, but she has a heart of gold. Jules wants to live her own life and one way to do it, is on her own terms. So she moves out of her brother’s house and she’s ready to start dating. Then we have Tad DeLuca, who’s one of the… Read more »
Book Review: Kate Meader’s All Fired Up
I have a confession; I’ve been eying Kate Meader’s Feel the Heat, but haven’t had the chance to read it. When the opportunity came to review All Fired Up, I couldn’t pass up the chance. All Fired Up is the second book in Meader’s Hot in the Kitchen series. If you haven’t read the first in the series, Feel the Heat, it is not necessary to do so in order to enjoy All Fired Up. Meader does give us a bit of backstory but I wouldn’t consider them spoilers. What happens in Vegas doesn’t stay in Vegas and for Cara DeLuca life is just about to get complicated. Meeting Shane Doyle at her cousin’s co-bachelor / bachelorette party doesn’t mean anything to Cara. When she wakes up the next day,… Read more »
