Blog Tour: Review-Miranda Neville’s Lady Windermere’s Lover + Giveaway

Blog Tour: Review-Miranda Neville’s Lady Windermere’s Lover + Giveaway

Miranda Neville is one of those authors I’ve always wanted to read, but I haven’t had the opportunity to do so until now. So when I had the opportunity to participate in the blog tour for Lady Windermere’s Lover, I couldn’t pass up the chance! We have good character development. We first meet Damian when he’s a young man. I really liked getting to see him at this age because we can see how reckless he becomes that night and how sorrowful he is afterwards. It’s really easy to see the man he’ll become. We don’t get much of Cynthia in her youth and by the time we do know her she’s already evolved into the woman Damian wanted his wife to become. She’s a bit complex to understand but… Read more »

Blog Tour: Review-Eloisa James’ Three Weeks with Lady X + Giveaway

Blog Tour: Review-Eloisa James’ Three Weeks with Lady X + Giveaway

Eloisa James is one of those authors who are hit or miss for me. I loved, loved, loved meeting Leopold Dautry, the Duke of Villiers in James’ Desperate Duchesses series and when I heard his illegitimate son, Tobias, was getting a book, I couldn’t resist the temptation to read it! Ah, Three Weeks with Lady X was everything I wanted! If you’ve never read James’ Desperate Duchesses series it’s not necessary to do so in order to enjoy Three Weeks with Lady X. There are no spoilers and you can even go back to read Leopold’s story, A Duke of Her Own, and not miss anything since both are good standalones. We have good characterization and James does a great job letting us spend an equal amount of time with… Read more »

Blog Tour: Review-Sarah MacLean’s No Good Duke Goes Unpunished + Giveaway

Sarah MacLean is one of those historical romance authors I’ve been wanting to read, but haven’t had the chance to do so. When the opportunity came to participate in the blog tour, I knew this was my chance. MacLean’s No Good Duke Goes Unpunished is the third book in her The Rules of Scoundrels series. If you haven’t read the series, it’s perfectly safe to read No Good Duke without being exposed to spoilers. As for characterization, it’s a bit weak. I do believe it has to do with the fact that this is the third book in a series and some characters are already established. Our hero is Temple (William Harrow, the Duke of Lamont) who has spent the past twelve years known as Killer Duke. He has no… Read more »

Blog Tour: Review-Julia Quinn’s The Sum of All Kisses + Giveaway

Whenever I have a bad day, Julia Quinn is an author I turn to. I devoured her Bridgerton series and I’ve made no secret that Mr. Cavendish, I Presume is my favorite. When the opportunity came to participate in the blog tour for The Sum of All Kisses, I couldn’t pass up the chance. The Sum of All Kisses is the third in the Symthe-Smith Quartet series. If you haven’t read the first two books, Just like Heaven and A Night Like This, you can delve right in; however, Quinn does mention a few things that occur in previous books, but nothing I would consider a spoiler. As for character development, it’s strong. We spend an equal amount of time with Sarah Pleinsworth and Hugh Prentice and get to know… Read more »

Blog Tour: Review-Karen Ranney’s The Devil of Clan Sinclair + Giveaway

I’ve always wanted to read Karen Ranney’s books, but I’ve never had the chance. When the opportunity came to participate in the blog tour, I couldn’t say no! Ranney’s The Devil of Clan Sinclair was a delightful read! I’m a big fan of reunited lovers and Ranney’s The Devil of Clan Sinclair doesn’t disappoint! Writing was engaging and I loved the banter between Macrath and Virginia. I most particularly enjoyed how Ranney introduced us to the couple and especially how their romance developed and how they were torn apart. Character development was strong, but I couldn’t feel much empathy for Virginia especially after she agrees to Enid, her mother-in-law’s plan. I know people do crazy things in desperate times, but I just wanted her to show some backbone. Even Enid… Read more »

Blog Tour: Review-Katharine Ashe’s How to Marry a Highlander

Katharine Ashe’s How to Marry a Highlander is a novella in her Falcon Club series. You don’t need to read the books in the series, but for a little background on Teresa and Duncan, you might want to read How a Lady Weds a Rogue since they make an appearance. Upon hearing the local vicar express his interest in her, Teresa Finch-Freeworth, flees her home in the country to London with one goal in mind, to marry the handsome Scotsman she can’t stop thinking about it. She seeks Duncan, the Earl of Eads and proposes marriage, but is disappointed when he doesn’t remember her and refuses her proposal. Blog Tour: Review-Cynthia Sax’s He Claims Me

Cynthia Sax’s He Claims Me is the final installment in The Seen Trilogy and while some questions remain unanswered, it’s a satisfying conclusion to this voyeuristic erotic trilogy. He Claims Me picks up right where He Touches Me left off. This time Anna is in trouble and in many ways, Sax was giving us a sign that something wasn’t right. In the first two novellas, we see a moth and Anna often compares herself to one; always floating and drifting. The morning following her first sexual experience with Gabriel she finds a moth hurt. At first I didn’t pay attention to it until everything Anna has worked for begins to fall apart. In He Touches Me, Michael eagerly assists Anna in trying to land an in-house meeting, but by accepting… Read more »

Blog Tour: Review-Cynthia Sax’s He Touches Me

Cynthia Sax’s He Touches Me picks up where He Watches Me left off and it’s the second novella in The Seen trilogy. In He Touches Me, we get to know Anna and Gabriel a little more. I failed to mention that narration in He Watches Me is first person via Anna and it continues throughout the series. I like Anna and her perspective. Anna comes to grip with the reality that she likes to be watched and I feel that a series in her narrative adds to the voyeurism aspect that she enjoys very much. Character development continues and it’s interesting to see both Anna and Gabriel establish a relationship. Their night time swimming ritual Anna established with Gabriel, still continues but this time there’s a bit of action on… Read more »

Anna Sampson is new to Los Angeles and takes a job as a charity fundraiser. She currently house-sits for a wealthy couple in Beverly Hills and uses the free room and board to save her money. Knowing utilities can be expensive she doesn’t run the air conditioner and to complicate matters, the Leigh’s have given her a list of rooms she’s allowed to use. The use of the pool isn’t on the list and one night decides to be reckless and use a neighbor’s pool to cool off.
