Blog Tour: Review-Tessa Dare’s When a Scot Ties the Knot + Giveaway

Blog Tour: Review-Tessa Dare’s When a Scot Ties the Knot + Giveaway

I have a confession…I’ve never read a Tessa Dare book until a few months ago. I was gifted a copy of Romancing the Duke and read it one sitting! I really enjoyed it and when the opportunity came to participate in the blog tour for Dare’s When a Scot Ties the Knot, I couldn’t say no! When a Scot Ties the Knot is the third in her Castles Ever After series and if you haven’t read the first two, it’s not necessary to enjoy When a Scot Ties the Knot. We have really good character development. Madeline Gracechurch is desperate to avoid a London Season and does the unthinkable: she invents a suitor and quickly announces their engagement. Maddie is so likeable and you can easily imagine being friends with… Read more »

Book Review: Jessa McAdams’ The Perfect Bargain

Book Review: Jessa McAdams’ The Perfect Bargain

I’ve read a few of Julia London’s historicals and she’s one I want to read more of. When the opportunity came to review a contemporary under the pen name, Jessa McAdams, I was intrigued. When I read the plot involved the Scottish Highlands, I couldn’t pass up the chance! Character development is a bit weak. Sloane Chatfield is an American girl who decided to leave it all behind for a few weeks to find her real life Jamie Fraser in Scotland. If you’re not familiar with who Fraser is, you’re not alone! Even our hero Galen Buchanan had no idea who he was, but I’ll be kind to you. Fraser of course is the hero in the Diana Gabaldon novels and one who has stolen the hearts of thousands of… Read more »

Blog Tour: Review-Karen Ranney’s The Devil of Clan Sinclair + Giveaway

Blog Tour: Review-Karen Ranney’s The Devil of Clan Sinclair + Giveaway

I’ve always wanted to read Karen Ranney’s books, but I’ve never had the chance. When the opportunity came to participate in the blog tour, I couldn’t say no! Ranney’s The Devil of Clan Sinclair was a delightful read! I’m a big fan of reunited lovers and Ranney’s The Devil of Clan Sinclair doesn’t disappoint! Writing was engaging and I loved the banter between Macrath and Virginia. I most particularly enjoyed how Ranney introduced us to the couple and especially how their romance developed and how they were torn apart. Character development was strong, but I couldn’t feel much empathy for Virginia especially after she agrees to Enid, her mother-in-law’s plan. I know people do crazy things in desperate times, but I just wanted her to show some backbone. Even Enid… Read more »

Blog Tour: Review-Katharine Ashe’s How to Marry a Highlander

Katharine Ashe’s How to Marry a Highlander is a novella in her Falcon Club series. You don’t need to read the books in the series, but for a little background on Teresa and Duncan, you might want to read How a Lady Weds a Rogue since they make an appearance. Upon hearing the local vicar express his interest in her, Teresa Finch-Freeworth, flees her home in the country to London with one goal in mind, to marry the handsome Scotsman she can’t stop thinking about it. She seeks Duncan, the Earl of Eads and proposes marriage, but is disappointed when he doesn’t remember her and refuses her proposal. Not one to back down from a challenge, she proposes a wager; for each betrothal his sisters make with her assistance, Duncan… Read more »
