Blog Tour: Review-Anne Whitney’s The Art of Love + Giveaway

Once in a while a book falls into your lap that blows you away. When Megan from Book Brats announced the opportunity to be part of Anne Whitney’s blog tour, I couldn’t pass up the chance especially after reading the synopsis. Anne Whitney’s debut, The Art of Love, is what all New Adult books should emulate. Character development is strong and we get to know each one to the point that they become personal friends. I really liked the personal journey Marina makes. When we first meet her, she’s a bit shy and uneasy and then she grows into her confidence. I adored Fitz! I was bit unsure how to react to him, but he’s kind and knows how to help someone in need. Your heart will break for him… Read more »

Blog Tour: Review-Tanya J. Peterson’s Leave of Absence

Blog Tour: Review-Tanya J. Peterson’s Leave of Absence

What is normal? That’s one of the questions Tanya J. Peterson has us asking while we read Leave of Absence. It’s an engaging, heartbreaking read and if you only read one book this year, it HAS to be Leave of Absence. You won’t regret it and you’ll see the world a little differently. Peterson has done a phenomenal job writing about a taboo subject. In a world filled with science and understanding, you’d think we’d be more open to talking about mental health, but we shy away from it. Oliver Graham lost his wife and son in a terrible accident and blames himself for their deaths. Wanting to numb the terrible pain he attempts to commit suicide, but when his attempt is thwarted he’s taken to Airheaven Behavioral Center. There… Read more »

On the other side of the hallway, Jay has a nightly ritual of checking in on Eden. He tries to convince himself it is because he’s a cop and not because of his growing feelings for her.
